In 2014, I discoverd a new skill. I’ve loved sewing and creating things for friends and family. Espeically the bags above, which I made for my Mum and Sister for Christmas!

I’ve got some exciting projects on the cards for 2015! I can’t wait to get started and learn more!

Happy New Year to you!

Sorry for being quiet recently, I’ve been a busy bee making lots of Christmas presents for friends and family. Unfortunately I can’t share them with you yet….

But this is something I can share. Here is a T-shirt I made as a birthday present for my friend Dan. He loves it!

I still can’t get enough of that fabric!

What do you think?

Making your own Doctor Who TARDIS T-shirt

I can't believe it's been 8 months since we had Doctor Who in our lives. It was sad to say goodbye to Matt Smith's Doctor, but I can't wait to see what Peter Capaldi does with the role. I expect dark times ahead for our beloved Doctor.  It's only a few days away now and I'm so excited.

To celebrate the Doctor's return to our screens on Saturday, I wanted to do something special. I’m really enjoying being back on a sewing machine again, so I wanted to put my new skills to the test and this is what I created...

Welcome to my TARDIS T-shirt.

The TARDIS' iconic shape and silhouette was perfect to test my skills on. Instead of the iconic blue I wanted to show the epic capabilities of the Doctor's long serving companion with some beautiful space fabric, which glows in the dark!

I'm so proud of what I've created. It's not perfect, there are a few rough stitches but I really enjoyed the challenge that it presented.

If you want to create your own, you will need:
  1. Cut out your silhouette on paper
  2. Work out where you want it on the fabric
  3. Cut around the fabric and cut a fabric adhesive sheet the same size as your fabric
  4. Iron the fabric to the rough side of the sheet.  If you want to make sure that your iron doesn't stick to the glue, use a piece of baking paper on top of the fabric
  5. Pin your silhouette on the fabric and cut out your shape
  6. Now peel off the back of the sheet,  place your patch on to your tshirt and iron to fix in place.
  7. Finish off the design by stitching around the edges of your design with a zigzag stitch.

I hope you enjoyed the blog, I would love to hear what you thought of the T-shirt.
